CHNC challenge 79: festive funnies

There was so much lovely inkyness on here for last week's challenge - I so enjoyed seeing the variety of creativity and techniques. I'm glad that so many of you are cracking on with getting Christmas cards done now. I hope that you'll join me once again this coming week - and, if you haven't yet started your Christmas cards, now would be a good time and I'd love to see what you create.

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winner of challenge 78. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 47: Ali Wade
who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Ali! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to claim your £15 to spend on stamps at The Artistic Stamper.

Now we move on to today's challenge:

Challenge 79

For today's challenge I'm asking you to show me some 'festive funnies' - something amusing, funny - a humorous Christmas card (something to make me smile).

This week's challenge is being sponsored by Ooh la la Creations - the randomly-chosen winner will be able to select any CD rom from their range (worth £14.99) - you'll find it difficult to choose, because they are all so lovely.

For my card I've used 'Santa putting' pyramid pictures supplied by Ooh la la Creations printed from their CD rom 'Festive Funnies' with artwork by D. R. Laird, plus backing papers from the same CD and a decorated insert. You can read more about my card here on My Crafty Outlook.

I've added another 'festive funny' card on My Crafty Outlook using digital images from My Craft Studio Magic of Christmas and adding my own text - you can read more about it here.

And another one you can read about here:

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a Christmas card - and this week please make an amusing, funny, humorous Christmas card - something to make me smile.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 6 July. Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on 7 July, when I will be joined by a Guest Designer - very exciting!

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you.

Please remember also to have a look at my CHNC page on facebook - if you do go there please join in by clicking 'like' so that I know that you've been there. During the week you'll find updates and hints of the next challenge - please feel free to chat there - I know that some of you do already - thank you.

It was great to see lots of different interpretations of 'things with wing's - so many of you are mounting up the Christmas cards now - you will be thankful when it comes to the 'silly season' approaching the Big Day! If you haven't started making your Christmas cards you know it makes sense to do so because we are now nearer to Christmas 2012 than 2011.

Sponsored by The Artistic Stamper

This week's challenge is being sponsored by The Artistic Stamper who will be giving £15.00 worth of stamps (the winner's choice) to the randomly selected winner.

For my card I've made an easel with a white scalloped circle which is gold foiled, on to which I stamped the Penny Black fantasy stamp with versamark and heat embossed with detail gold. I distressed first with dusty concord and then with chipped sapphire DIs. You can read more about my card here on My Crafty Outlook.

And for this week's challenge Digi Doodle Shop are once again generously giving a $10 gift certificate to the randomly-chosen winner.

DigiDoodle Shop is the results of a mother and daughter’s love for the arts and crafts.  It was started a little over 3 years ago with a little more than 100 stamps, and has since then grown to almost 500 stamps.  Joy (the mother of this team) designs realistic images, while Judy (aka/daughter) loves the “fun side of life”, and create images with a cartoon flair.  Having these two complimenting styles have enabled
Digi Doodle Shop to offer a wide variety of stamps.

It is a real honor and pleasure to sponsor this challenge, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing creations.  We thank the design team for their incredible creations, and wish all the participants the very best of luck in this challenge.

Thank you so much for having us, and again the very best of luck to all of you.
Sincerely,
Judy and Joy

For my card I've used the lovely 'angel and harp' image supplied by Digi Doodle Shop - more details here on My Crafty Outlook:

Challenge 76

For today's challenge I'm asking you to 'feature a creature' on your Christmas card - any creature, large or small

Bugaboo Stamps are proud to sponsor this challenge - they are offering $21 of digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps   at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT   for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug

Today I'm joined by Amy Ely, a member of the Bugaboo team, with her lovely card - please visit blog and leave her a comment. Thank you,  Amy, for joining me for this challenge:

For my card I've used the lovely digital stamp supplied by Bugaboo Stamps 'little penguin winter - skate'. More details of my card and the challenges I've linked to on My Crafty Outlook here:

And here is another card I've made, this time using the Bugaboo 'reindeer skate' digital stamp (more details here):

I've added yet another card for this challenge here - using the Bugaboo 'winter birds skate' digital stamp:

CHNC challenge 75: a right royal purple

We're still enjoying our break in Eastbourne and are looking forward to the local celebrations to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. I haven't done any crafting at all this week, but prepared most of this post before I left home, including my card for this challenge.

Once again during this week there have been lots of lovely cards showing various forms of Christmas foliage - lovely to see regulars taking part and also to welcome some newcomers - hope we'll see more of your creations in the weeks to come.

This weekend is a special one in the UK as the country celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth 1  - I just about remember the day that we all got together in the Methodist hall at the top of my Nan's road. All the children were presented with mugs to celebrate the coronation of our queen and all the school children in Essex were given a book. I no longer have the mug, but I do still have the book. So I've chosen a royal colour for today's challenge.

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winner of challenge 74. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 16: Sue W
who shared this lovely card

Congratulations, Sue! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to claim your $9 gift certificate from Shelly's images.

Challenge 75

For today's challenge I'm asking you to use some purple - a little or a lot, it's up to you!

Today's challenge is being generously sponsored once again by Whoopsi Daisy - the randomly-picked winner will receive their choice of two sheets from Linnie's Whoopsi Daisy shop.

Whoopsi Daisy Digi Stamps features all hand drawn images by the amazing Linnie
and specialises in cute images of children.
Whoopsi Daisy offers a great deal for your money.
Take a look at the
where you are certain to find awesome images which will fit all your creative needs.

For my card I've used some paper from the My Craft Studio beautiful baubles collection that I got some time ago with Making Cards together with a Kanban topper that I've had for ages - just a strip of glittered gold down the side and the card was done - more details on My Crafty Outlook here.

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a Christmas card - and this week please use the colour purple - a little or a lot, it's up to you.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday8 June.  Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on 9 June.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.
